Get Rid of Student Loan Debt

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

How do you know you’re a successful college graduate these days? About ten percent of your paycheck goes toward student loan payments every month, and will continue to do so until, oh, the day you retire. Student loan debt has become a fact of life for most students, and we can probably debate whether this is a good or bad thing for hours but I’m sure everybody can agree on one good thing: getting rid of student loan debt. Being saddled with monthly payments is never fun and sometimes stressful, so it’s worth the work and research to minimize your student loan debt as much as possible and find every way possible to get rid of your student loan debts as fast as possible without adding more stress to your already busy, post-college life. Because we can’t all be accounting majors, I offer you our newest page, all about helping you get rid of student loan debt.

Get Rid of a Car

Friday, November 2nd, 2007

I probably should have done an article about how to get rid of a car before we sold Natasha’s car, because we took quite a beating on the price we eventually settled on. Poor Natasha out there in the cold, being haggled down by a very large man. I would have gone to help, but it was too much fun watching her “take care of business.” I think we ended up a couple thousand dollars short on that deal, but I learned a thing or two when we were trading in my old Honda for the new Subaru (since hit by a bear and an elderly woman). Don’t let salespeople push you around. Stand firm on that “fair” blue book value and don’t let up until they put the contract for your new car on the table.

Anyway, I hope this article about getting rid of cars helps. I couldn’t think of anywhere to put it besides debt, because honestly, what can put you in debt faster than a car or a house?

Get Rid of Debt

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

In the last two months I have paid off several thousand dollars worth of debt, and only have a few thousand to go. As a fairly recent college grad, I consider myself extraordinarily lucky not to be staring down the barrel of a forty-year loan payment plan, like most of my college friends. Does something about this seem wrong to anyone else? Debt is a pandemic in the US, and elsewhere around the world, and while my ideas about throwing the money system out the window entirely probably aren’t too popular, I think most of you will agree with me that getting rid of debt is a good thing. Debt comes in many forms, and we will adress some of those in more specific articles to come, but for we’re now starting with a simple page covering how to get rid of debt in general.
