Get Rid of Back Pain

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

I don’t have a problem with back pain, but my fiancé does. The poor guy’s back is like one of those topographical maps with ridges stamped into the paper where the mountains are. And it’s a map of a mountainous region. Not long ago, we brought home the World’s Most Expensive Bed, hoping it would help, and it did. Sort of. But it turns out getting rid of back pain isn’t just a matter of buying a new bed. The back is a complicated machine, and taking care of it properly means taking care of all the parts, all the time. Lately I’ve been researching how to get rid of back pain to help my fiancé, and I figured I might as well help you while I was at it. That’s just the kind of girl I am. So if your back hurts, you should check out my latest article.

Get Rid of High Blood Pressure

Monday, July 21st, 2008

Why should one want to get rid of high blood pressure? Isn’t it just as American as baseball and apple pie…and watching hours of TV, eating massively huge portions at restaurants, growing pot bellies, and imitating tree sloths - minus the trees? Well, considering that this pastime comes with the strong possibility of heart failure, stroke, aneurysm, kidney failure, brain damage, hardened arteries, and a laundry list of other maladies, perhaps getting rid of high blood pressure is a good idea. The trouble with high blood pressure, or hypertension, is that the vast majority of sufferers experience absolutely no symptoms until something terrible happens. If you find out that you do have high blood pressure, don’t panic. There are many simple lifestyle changes that can bring it down to a safe level. A variety of natural supplements have also proven helpful for the hypertensive. If you can’t make the changes, or aren’t sloth-like at all but are just genetically predisposed to hypertension, there are many effective medications out there - read for yourself.

Get Rid of Cholesterol

I love food. All kinds of food. Before I found out I have borderline high cholesterol, I rarely met a hot dog, cheese, ice cream, or pot roast I didn’t like. One of my favorite snacks as a kid was a slice of bread with butter on it. Yum. Butter. But now–thanks a lot, Dad, for the bad genes–I know my body makes more than enough cholesterol on its own, and any I add via my diet just wants to party on my arterial walls. Bad stuff. So for the past few years, I’ve been learning a lot about how to get rid of cholesterol. Now I’m passing my wisdom on to you. My latest article, on getting rid of cholesterol, covers everything from everyday lifestyle and dietary changes you can make to lower your cholesterol, to drugs you can ask your doctor about, to natural compounds that support your body’s efforts to keep cholesterol levels acceptable. Take a look.

Dizziness is one of the most common medical complaints, a symptom of many illnesses and experiences, and treated in a myriad of ways. There are a number of steps you can take to get rid of dizziness as it hits, and even build up your balance and focal strength to reduce feelings of dizziness in the future. Get Rid of Asthma

About three years ago, I was diagnosed with asthma. Before that, I lived with it for most of my life without having any idea why exercise was a struggle for breath and lying in bed at night was sometimes more scary than restful. When I was finally diagnosed, I decided 23 years was more than enough of that crap, and ever since I’ve worked pretty hard to keep my asthma symptoms in check. My doctor and I adjust my treatment frequently to make sure I’m on the most effective medications and dosages, and I’m always interested in more ways to get rid of asthma symptoms. Unfortunately, getting rid of asthma altogether isn’t a possibility because it’s a chronic condition. But if it’s controlled properly, it’s unnoticeable most of the time. My latest article goes over the treatments your doctor may prescribe to minimize your asthma symptoms, and suggests things you can do on your own to prevent flare-ups.

Get Rid of Nausea

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

When was the last time you woke up from a night of partying hard and immediately regretted that ninth (tenth, eleventh) drink? Or that second enchilada from the questionable joint down the block? We’ve all experienced the hell that is nausea, the dizzy, trembly, queasy anticipation of relief in the even more hellish form of a good vomit session with the toilet? And you’re probably feeling nauseous now, just from reading this, which means it’s the perfect time to introduce my latest page on how to get rid of nausea. Check it out for practical ways to find nausea relief, a few suggestions for natural nausea treatments, and a brief explanation of possible causes of nausea.

Get Rid of Ear Wax

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

I recently completed yet another article about ears. This one is about how to get rid of earwax. I’ve done my best to make sure we don’t rely on the old cotton-tipped swab, because those have the potential to cause more harm than good, especially if you’re one of those unlucky people who produces more ear wax than normal. Stuffing Q-tips down your ears means you’re risking the possibility of jamming a big chunk of ear wax even further down your ear. If you do that, chances are you’ll have to pay for a very expensive visit to the hospital. So, put the Q-tip down and let me talk to you about how to remove ear wax safely.

How to Get Rid of a Smoking Addiction

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

After retirement, my grandpa drove school bus for a few years. And this is a big city with big schools. So, each school has quite a few bus drivers. One of the guys my grandpa drove with was an ex-heroine addict. Not only was he an ex-heroine addict, he was also an ex-smoker. An ex-smoker who swore that his experience with quitting smoking cigarettes was “a hundred times harder than kicking smack.” While I can’t personally attest to the validity of that statement, I have to believe it’s true. Many, and I mean MANY of us have tried to quit smoking on numerous occasions. It’s tough as hell. That’s why I put this little article together. Not only do I have personal experience with kicking a nicotine addiction, I also know a number of people who have quit smoking (my dad included) who I was able to talk to for my article How to Get Rid of a Smoking Addiction.

Get Rid of PMS

Friday, February 8th, 2008

PMS jokes: we’ve all heard them; most of us have cracked them. But if you’ve ever had symptoms of PMS, you know it’s not actually very funny. For one thing, it sometimes hurts—physically hurts. And then there’s the problem of trying to wrangle control over your mind, since bursting into tears midsentence and yelling at strangers are usually perceived as antisocial behaviors. And if you have any of those symptoms right now, you probably have your ears open for ways to get rid of PMS. Fortunately, getting rid of PMS—or at least reducing its symptoms—is something you can usually do at home, by making some basic lifestyle changes. I describe those changes in my latest article, and for those of you who suffer from very severe PMS symptoms, or from PMDD, I also go into forms of treatment you can get from your doctor.

Get Rid of a Staph Infection (Impetigo)

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

Doesn’t that kid look like a zombie? I think he (or she) would eat brains if given the chance. But anyway.

I done finished an article about Staph infections. I don’t know if you’ve heard about them. Flesh eating bacteria that are running rampant through our schools and hospitals? Yeah, that would be Staph infections. Actually, this article is about how to get rid of impetigo, a type of Staph infection–since Staph infections come in several flavors. Staphylococcus aureus, the scientific name for the bacteria we’re talking about here, are responsible for a lot of problems like razor rash, boils, carbuncles, impetigo, some types of arthritis, stomach flu and food poisoning, even pneumonia. It’s an incredible little germ, that’s for sure.

Anyway, impetigo is probably one of the milder infections (when it’s mild. see: google images impetigo) caused by a colonization of the Staph bacteria. There are several recommendations from the standpoint of conventional medicine as well as several suggestions for treatment from the side of alternative medicine. Whether you believe in herbalism or not, you should probably get a Staph infection looked at by a doctor. If, however, medical attention is not immediately available to you, some of the advice offered in the article, “how to get rid of a staph infection” should help you prevent or treat a mild staph infection.
