Get Rid of Shin Splints

Saturday, February 17th, 2007

My brief stints as a runner have taught me one thing: it hurts like hell, you keep going, and it hurts like hell some more. Every runner, and especially every beginning runner, wants to get rid of shin splints. Whether you’re just new at running, or you’ve got bad running form, or your body just isn’t in shape for running, or you don’t have quality shoes, you’re bound to get shin splints at one time or another, and running just won’t be the same until you get rid of them. Check out the new page for information on what shin splints are, their causes, and means of getting rid of your shin splints.

Get Rid of Hemorrhoids

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

Get Rid of Hemorrhoids may have been a page you missed. It was written before I had the chance to create this blog and keep people updated on the new content available on How to Get Rid of Things. Well, today is your lucky day. I recently updated the hemorrhoid page, added some content, and brought it into the css/design fold of the newer pages we’ve been writing. Short and sweet: most of the same great advice, less of the bad HTML code. You’ll be seeing more of these updates because we have more than a few pages that were written in the early days of this website that are just begging to be revised and thrown into the new template.

Get Rid of Ulcers (peptic or gastric)

Monday, February 12th, 2007

I enjoy writing articles about topics that I have personal experience with, even if (or especially if?) that experience isn’t the most pleasant — like how to get rid of ulcers. As I learned, the hard way, it’s important to be aware of what peptic or gastric ulcers are and what kind of symptoms they have, even before you have to get rid of your ulcers. If you don’t, you could end up suffering through a days (or weeks) of unnecessary and unhealthy pain while your ulcer just gets worse. Remember, I’m talking about ulcers in your stomach or small intestine (apparently you can get ulcers in other places, like your foot?!), which are caused by overactive stomach acid eating away the stomach or intestinal wall. And believe me: once you’ve felt that joy of nature you’ll want to do nothing else but get rid of the ulcer.

Get Rid of Acid Reflux

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007

You know, you’re not going to get rid of acid reflux without some serious lifestyle changes. The gist of it is, you’re going to have to start exercising after meals, stop eating large meals, stop eating foods that cause heartburn and acid reflux, stop smoking, and stop drinking. Jesus, after all of that, what else is there? What’s left for the common man besides living in a sterile room eating cream of potato soup, waiting for death?

Well, luckily you don’t have to cut everything out of your diet if you’re suffering from acid reflux. There are a lot of things you can eat. In fact, you are allowed to eat anything that you can honestly say your digestive system can handle. For instance, when my acid reflux starts to act up, I can still eat curry, but tomato sauce is the death of me. But it should go without saying that stimulants like coffee and cigarettes should be avoided, since stimulants tend to spike your gastric acid production and spasms in certain muscle groups, like the lower esophageal sphincter.

Another interesting note about acid reflux is the idea that it can cause a secondary sinus infection, which may lead to an acute case of sinusitis. Acid reflux can even cause cancer if it isn’t treated properly. Ready to learn how to get rid of acid reflux disease?

Get Rid of Stretch Marks

Monday, February 5th, 2007

A woman once asked me why I didn’t write an article explaining how to get rid of stretch marks. I told her it was because you can’t get rid of stretch marks; all you can do is watch your body heal them naturally. Well, as it turns out, I was both correct and incorrect. You see, there are a few things you can do to help your body along, one of which is massaging your skin. I had no idea how important massaging your skin was to the regeneration of skin tissue, but it is! Also, I came to realize that this isn’t just a problem for people who are over weight or pregnant. I too have to deal with stretch marks, and I imagine that when the winter is over and I’m done lifting weights purely to bulk up, that I’ll lose a little of this muscle mass in exchange for leaner muscle, and I too will have stretch marks to get rid of. So, before spring comes along, here are some things you can do to get rid of stretch marks or at least help prevent them.

Get Rid of Sties

Monday, February 5th, 2007

It doesn’t take a lot of research to figure out that a hygiene problem as innocuous as a stye has about 12,000 different spellings; well, maybe 3: stye, sties, sty, and sometimes even the plural of stye which would be styes. Yeah, I don’t know either. We have the same problem with chiggers which are also known as red bugs, red mites, and sometimes just mites. Anyway, it’s easy to get rid of sties and they usually do it themselves if you just leave them alone. Of course, that’s not good enough for a lot of people, so I’ve outlined a list of possible cures for styes in an article appropriately titled How to Get Rid of Styes, Sties, or a Sty. Enjoy.

Get Rid of Gas

Monday, February 5th, 2007

My latest article, on how to get rid of gas, is for all you bean-lovers out there. You’ll find suggestions on how to get rid of your gas, prevent your gas, and be aware of the causes of gas, which can be sympomatic of more serious digestive problems, such as IBS. In short, check out get rid of gas for all things gas, everybody’s favorite topic of dinner table discussion. Ha. Ha.

Get Rid of Black Eyes

Sunday, February 4th, 2007

It’s been a long time coming: this article, that is. Hah! Well, if you want to know how to get rid of a black eye, I’ve got just the thing for you. I did quite a bit of research for this one, and I think the step-by-step guide approach to the treatment of black eyes will have you suffering from less embarassment in public if you’re particularly prone to getting black eyes. Seriously, some people really are more prone to getting black eyes than other people. Some people get black eyes for no good goddamned reason. In fact, I used to work with a guy who had a birthmark that looked like a black eye, so whenever he was meeting new people they couldn’t help but stare and ask him as sincerely as possible if he was “really okay.”
