Awesome research about the acid in the vinegar getting rid of the oil from the skunk. My dog got sprayed in the face, with us standing four feet away, with an open patio door. Our sunroom, deck, bbq cover, basically everything in the path of the skunk's butt got sprayed. So, now I've got some great ideas for cleaning the wood to get rid of that smell. For me, I used tomato juice on the dog's face. It's less acidic I beleive than vinegar, and a bit better to pour on the dog's face. Right in her eye too it sprayed. So, tomato juice worked for immediate cleaning of the dog. I just have to now use something a bit stronger for everything else. Thanks for the info. Hope to smell better soon.
