There are many ways to get rid of paper. But there are even ways to get rid of paper that don’t involve sneaking onto private property and throwing paper away into somebody else’s dumpster, Arlo Guthrie-style. If you can recall, it didn’t work well for him. The first, and best, three ways to get rid of paper are to reduce, reuse, and recycle. Any amount of paper intake that you can get rid of is a good thing, and better for your household clutter and the environment. Reduce paper clutter by switching to electronic bill paying, electronic statements, and electronic correspondence instead of wasting paper. Reuse paper in any way you see fit, such as making paper crafts, scrapbooking, lining a rodent cage, gardening, or training a puppy. Recycling is another easy way to get rid of paper. After that, you can choose to shred paper to get rid of it, use paper in some sort of art, or simply organize paper away. Using a file cabinet may not actually get rid of paper, but by sorting, organizing, and properly storing it, it feels as if you’ve gotten rid of paper.
