We don't have leaches up here! Goodness, but we sure got some big ones in the Cricks and weedy bass lakes back home. She doesn't need to go to where? CVS? Rite Aid? Just go to the bait store--duh.

Could use a bag-o-night crawlers or a bag-o-ladybugs. They sell red wigglers from the ice box in Wal-Mart and label them night crawlers. HAHA. A bag of live lady bugs (approximately 50) sell for over $10.00.

Just read an article by a contributor and have a lot of comments
to make. 1)Charcoal capsules can affect absorption of a number
of prescription medications so you may want to coordinate that and
take it an hour or two before or after scheduled medication. 2)Good
old pink pepto bismol type products have a salicylate ingredient that
is like aspirin. As such, it may temporarily kill some of your
abdominal pain but have a backlash in the long run if you are sensitive
to those types of products. See a doctor if you are continually
resorting to those type of products for relief. You may want to try a
gas relief medication instead that includes simethicone. 3)Eating on the run and overeating can cause bloating. Do you drink large carbonated beverages with your meal?4)Bloating can be a symptom along with water weight gain and mood swings associated with monthly PMS in females. 5)Diabetics frequently have problems with bloating and/or diarrhea, especially if taking large doses of drugs like metformin, glucophage, etc. 6)Diabetics with nerve damage in their stomach may have trouble with food collecting and not emptying properly. One symptom of this is excessive belching. There are medications to ease this problem. 7)Ovarian cancer is a "silent" disease in that early
detection is very difficult. However, bloating is one of the primary symptoms, so beware. 8)Ginger tea is good for stomach upsets and may be a good adjunct to
other things especially if you have other symptoms with bloating. 9)Can't remember if you mentioned products like BEANO in your article.

God I love models.they make the world a better place for all of us.My only concern is how are you getting bruises? Are you bumping into things or is a jealous boyfriend hitting you? You shouldn't be getting bruises at all. If you're bumping into things try looking where you're going. This is how you do it. Look left then right then down then up. if there's nothing there you can take a step forward. Now try it..See? If it's a boyfriend call 911. That's on the phone ..push those numbers.and a nice person will talk to you.No more bumps for you!

I've used epsom salt baths after 48 hours while applying heated epsom salt compresses. I'll hold a hot wash cloth with the salt pressed right on the bruise for 20 mins. When I pull away, parts of the old blood pull away from the surface and it starts to break down and look....uglier...but closer to healing. The center usually whitens up and resembles an eye but it heals faster. Being a model...I need to part with bruising immediately.

I found your info on how to get rid of a bruise very helpful but I did want to add that applying Witch Hazel to the bruise for about 30 minutes right after it happens can be extremely helpful in preventing a bruise. I tend to bruise easily and after a rather hard fall on my knee I applied a Witch Hazel soaked gauze pad to it and elevated my leg for about 30-45 minutes then just repeated this treatment intermittently throughout the rest of the day. I had virtually no bruise. I don't know exactly how it works... I know it contains alcohol and of course feels cool to the skin, but it really works.

I don't think I'm qualified to make any recommendations, considering that you've consulted so many physicians so far, and I'm not a doctor. I think you'll just have to wait this one out. That's how a viral infection works. Keep taking the antibiotics, because those are going to prevent any secondary infection that might pop up because of your weakened immune system. If I were going to recommend on product, I would recommend Zicam. Zinc is said to exhibit antiviral properties, and my friend Kate swears by the Zicam Cold Remedy Gel Swabs.

One more suggestion: go see your family physician, have him take a look at you, and refer you to an Ear Nose and Throat specialist. They call them otolaryngologists. I have been complaining of a dry throat and throat pain for 4 years, and until I saw the otolaryngologist, no one had even suggested that it was a problem with my tonsils. He wants them removed by the end of the summer.

So, moral of the story is: when in doubt about your general practice doc go see a specialist, if you have the money/insurance.

This has gone on for too long, i cant be sick like this! I am a single mom and a college student at a high-end academy and mid-terms are next week! ANY advice or suggestions/ideas would be reatly appreciated!

I have tried so many things and i am on so many medications! I went out grocery shopping for my mom saturday evening and halfway through i started feeling funny; kinda nauseous and light-headed. By the time i got back to her place an hour later, i thought i was going to throw up. I went into town sunday afternoon to the adult urgent care after hours clinic, and i was turned away even though they were still open for another hour, they were finishing up with their "last patient" and they wanted to get home. So i made an appointment for monday at 11am, showed up and saw the doctor- he did tests for strep and bronchitis, both came back negative- all he could tell me was that i have "flu-like symptoms" and he prescribed me Azithromycin (anti-biotic) and Cheratussin (which has some codeine in it). I woke up at 4:30am this morning feeling like i was on fire and grabbed a very cold sprite o try to cool my body temp down, after i drank about a third of it, i noticed that my mouth heated right back up so i decided i needed to take my temperature again- it was 102.8 (my body temp normally runs at 97.6, so i had cause to worry). I was up visiting my mom and barely made it to her bedroom (major dizziness; i almost fell over a couple times). When i told her, she wanted to take me to the Emergency Room ASAP-i tried to convince her to let me wait until the motrin ive been taking kicked in. She started the car and we went into the E.R.-where they took me back right away. My blood was drawn and i was tested for Mono- another Negative (Thank God!). All they could tell me was that it is Viral and I will be contagious until my fever breaks. He wrote me a note excusing me from school for up to two weeks; but i cannot take that much time off and i cannot let my daughter catch this infection! (feels like my front side has been used as a punching bag from coughing so much!)

My lungs are on fire, i cant stop coughing, my ears hurt badly (i have only one ear i can hear out of-my mom had measles in her first trimester with me and i was born deaf in one, so whenever the other starts to get infected, its an immediate trip to the doctor!)

So i need to get rid of the bad fever, constant coughing, horrribly sore and swollen throat, earaches, and i need to get better!

Any ideas?
Thanks!

Both my sister's husband and myself suffered from acne a couple years ago. He went to see a doctor about it, and was asked how much he touched his face during the day- he was extremely puzzled by this question until the doctor told him that many times every day we touch our faces without realizing it, and even though they look clean and dry- there is still bacteria, dirt and oil on them, and its all transferred to your face everytime your fingers come in contact. Try to not touch your fingers to your face, it worked for me; and yes, stress and anxiety doesnt help but i know that i end up rubbing my forehead or putting my hands on my face when i get like that also. give it a try-it might help more then you think!

I use egg white to get rid of pimples.. What you do is seperate the yellow from the white then take a wire wisk and wisk the egg white until it looks kinda like foam.. Then take a cotton call and apply it to your face let it dry and stay on there for awhile, I have left mine on all night long before and the next day the bump will be alot smaller just repeat this until all bumps are gone...
Let me know how it works for you. I hope that you have as much sucess as I did.

One of the first things to getting rid of acne is to try to determine the cause. Allergies, stress, hormonal flucuations (i.e. PMS, weight loss/gain)can all contribute to acne break-outs. You may want to talk to your doctor or dermatologist just to rule out these factors.

The rest I'm sure you've heard a thousand times and will all seem pretty common sense, but trust me, developing a routine and sticking with it are the only way to combat acne.

*Change your bed linens at least once a week.
*Use a fresh towel every day.
*Stop using fabric softeners, fabric fresheners, etc. These all leave residues which may be contributing to your problem.
*Wash, rinse, repeat. Twice a day. A simple skin care routine proves more effective than a cabinet full of pimple pads.
*If you need an extra boost to clear up a break out, use a product containing tea tree oil. (Paul Mitchell tea tree shampoo can also be used as a face/body wash - not only does it work exceptionally well, it *tingles*, too!) You can even add a few drops to your regular face wash or dab it on the problem areas as a night treatment.
*If you have long hair, wear it off your face/neck between washings, especially at night.

Godd luck, hope this help! ^_^
