I just found an earwig by my son's bed so looked it up on this site to find how to get rid of them. There are many good suggestions which I will use....but mainly, what I want to tell folks is that my 40-yr-old nephew fell asleep on the floor one night while watching tv and woke later with a terrific earache. It was so bad he said if he'd had a gun he might have shot himself. He drove himself to the ER in Phoenix where the doctors found an earwig - yes! an earwig in his ear! They took it out with forceps and extracted the eggs they saw in his ear! I know - everything you look up online about earwigs say it is a myth that they go into one's ears. I know, as does my nephew, this is not true. Furthermore - WHY are they called "earwigs" to begin with? Hope this helps

Hello! I launder donations at my home for a volunteer organization to be brought back when they are clean. With the bedbugs on the rise, I want to protect myself from getting them, despite having lots of used clothing coming through my home. Would sealing them in bags for a set amount of time kill them? How about freezing them? How long can they live without a host? If I kept the bags of donations in the garage, would the bugs travel far from the bag if they managed to get out in the garage? Do they live off cats, too? Sorry so many questions!

I'm in the process of moving right now as well as in the middle of a war with some sugar ants in our apartment. I've tried a lot of different solutions but none seem to be 100% effective. I've gone through periods of seemingly no ants to all hell breaking loose. Right now we are moving and obviously don't want to take these guys with us. Other than preventitive measures we'll obviously have to take once in the new place I was wondering if anyone had any possible helpful tips.
One thing I was thinking about was, since we are moving in December and we live in southern ontario it gets pretty cold in the winter. So i was thinking that if we packed everything in the moving van and rather than moving it all in and out in one day. Leaving it in the van overnight to more or less freeze (or as close to it as you can get being in a moving van in the winter). Would this be an effective way to kill them?. Any feedback/help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have small brown, possibly weevils, that have infested my car. I don't believe that they bite. I have sprayed an indoor product, vacuumed extensively, and even set off a "bomb", with the trunk cavity open to the cabin. However, they always seem to return. I am afraid that they are either in the dash or the foam of the cloth upholstered seats. I really do not want to get rid of a car with thousands of dollars, over some bugs. As one final problem I have a 2.5 year old. So any treatment will have to be safe for toddlers a few weeks after applied.

Hey everyone. My family recently moved into our first home.....you'd think we'd all be happy right? Wrong!! About 2 weeks or so after moving in we noticed little bugs flying around. We thought they were fruit flies and figured they would go away after tossing some potatoes and fruit that were starting to go bad. Wrong again! I kill at least 5 to 10 of these things every day. Some are teeny tiny little bugs and others are a bit bigger. The bigger ones must be on suicide missions or something cause they love to fly right up in your face. I've also noticed that I'm being bitten. Of course I'm the only one getting bitten. But this is a huge problem for me as my skin heals slow and I tend to scab and scar from the tiniest little scratch.

I don't have any house plants, I have put them all on my patio. I can't imagine where they are coming from but I need some sort of idea of where they could be coming from and how I can get rid of them. Thanks for your help.
