Finally, I have discovered what appears to be a solution to an ongoing problem that many think is biting midges or no-seeums. They are not bugs, they are flying parasites that got into this country on cloth and can make your life MISERABLE. I have not tried the product yet on this website but will do so:
http://www.naturalginesis.com/info_parasites.html
Good luck to you if you have this pest, you will need it.

I found an insect in my storage unit that looked very strange a couple weeks ago, (this storage building is infested by cockroaches too by the way), and I was told by my friend that the description sounded like a silverfish. But I looked up a picture on line and the bug I found was more of a matte whitish or greyish white than the bold silver that the bugs were in the photos I saw online. The bug I found was about an inch long, and looked like a cross between an earwig and a cockroach, and more like an earwig than a cockroach. And it was tapered, it had a larger head and its body tapered and became more narrow till it ended in almost a point.

Does anyone have any idea what kind of bug this might be? And maybe a way to get rid of it?

I'm getting pretty worried since I have been told many horror stories about silverfish and the damage they can do to books. I'm not too worried about my clothes since I have enough outside of storage, but my books! I have boxes and boxes of books in storage, and some of them are quite valuable and hard to find. I don't want them to be eaten by silverfish!!!

I would really appreciate if anyone could tell me if this is a silverfish. It would really ease my mind if I knew I was infested by a bug that didn't *gasp* eat and devour books.

Last night, my roommate saw a small, brown mouse run behind her bed. We had some people come upstairs and attempt to catch it, but they couldn't find it and assumed it had run outside. However, I saw it this morning when cleaning up our room.

Our dorm room is relatively clean and only a few years old-not a very obvious place for mice. We would prefer not to use a snap trap or anything that will kill it, but we want to be sure it's out of our room. Can anyone help us out?

Hi. We live in NY and last summer I noticed what appeared to be a black wasp flying back and forth on the 2nd floor of our house. Usually I am not afraid to kill bugs but it was huge and looked threatening. Everyone was afraid of it so we all stayed on the bottom floors that night. The next day a friend came over to kill it and it was no where to be found.

A few days later I saw one in my room on the wall. I was able to kill that one b/c it wasn't flying around.

At first I thought they were coming in the house behind us as we entered and exited. But after a few days I realized this is the only bug I was seeing and I was seeing it too frequently. And we only saw it on the 2nd floor.

Whenever we saw them we were just forced to stay on the bottom floors and hope it wouldn't be there the next day. A few times I'd see one fly into the bathroom and just close the door locking it in there. 2 or 3 days later we'd find it dead floating in the toilet.

We had a professional come and look around- of course he didn't see anything nor did he find a nest in the attack. I would find dead wasps on the upstairs curtains and on the floor all summer. He said he didn't know where they were coming from and the problem would disappear once summer ends.

Well here we are summer 2008 and the wasps are back! I saw one in the hall upstairs. My sister had to spray it with something designed to be sprayed at a nest from afar. I can't be a prisoner in my house all summer again.

What are we supposed to do??
