We started getting these bites since the last two weeks. Started mainly on a sofa. Now it spread to multiple sofas possibly carpet. Now we feel some stinging bites even just standing. The girls in the family( My wife and daughter) are affected the most. Their bites are visible. My daughter would playing on and suddenly she has these bumps, some times in multiples. I have seen on her tummy, back and legs. Same thing with my wife. Back and the Arms. Guys (myself and my son) we seem to get some stings but not any bumps. I dont see them on my son. I saw one or two red bumps on me once in a while. I do feel the stinging. It's like somebody took a really thin needle, just pricked a little. The irritaion lasts for a few seconds and goes away.

We saw some dark specs (almost finely ground black pepper flakes). I took the magnifying glass(3x), it looked like it could be a bug but not sure. Sometimes it feels like they are living on us. Because I feel that sting just sitting on my arms, calves and knee areas.

We vaccumed all the furniture multiple times and we are doing loads of laundry everyday trying and showering frequently. Dont know what these things are.
From what I have read, it seemed like bird mites. The neighborhood had pigeon problems and most of the houses took care of it (including mine) few years ago.

Now we are thinking getting some foggers and fumigation. Any help and advice is appreciated. We just cant see them.

So about a week ago, I started itching kind of like just a simple bug bite. Well now it has developed into a creepy crawly feeling all over my body, with red insect bites all over my body. I am itching like crazy!!! However, my husband and kids have yet to be bitten, either that or they aren't having the same reaction as I am to it. These bugs are tiny black specks, not even spots due to them being so small. We have seen them on anything white such as a plug in air freshner , and my bathroom tiled floor. I have also seen two on me, so that is how I know for a fact that those same critters are indeed the ones biting me. Now just confused on rather or not it is considered a "black pepper mite" or a "bird mite" and trying to figure out how to get rid of them, cause lets face it, if I don't get them off me, I will eventually go completely crazy!!

About 1 month ago my wife started complaining that she was finding little black bugs in our towels and in our bathroom. Next, she started feeling bites all over. We initially thought it was fleas since we have a dog. We put flea foggers in every room of the house and treated the dog with a frontline type product. We then began vacuuming daily and washing all laundry in hot water. None of these things helped. Now my wife has bites on her scalp and is finding these little black specks all over the house and in our clothes and towels. This is taking over our lives, it feels like there are bugs on our skin and in our hair. We do not even invite anyone to our home because it feels "dirty". Does anyone have any type of advice? We live in Illinois.

My dermatologist has not been able to diagnose my rash/bites after a skin biopsy. It's inconclusive, but he suspects mites...but not sure which kind. I have been battling this by myself for 2 months after 2 separate outbreaks 21 days apart.

It's either bird mites or scabies mites. I live alone and haven't had much direct contact with people so not sure how I would have gotten scabies. There are no bites on my wrists or near fingers...but there are under my breasts and on my back. Why is it so hard to diagnose??

Would the Elimite work for both kinds of mites? I need to take care of my niece's baby after her surgery and I need to get rid of whatever it is I have for fear of passing it to the baby!!
