There are several "traps" that are non lethal for mice. One is a plastic tube shaped like a "V" that the mouse goes in and the trap rocks forward closing the door. Another is a Victor (trade name) trap that is a metal box..another is a "ketch-all" wind up trap designed to catch up to 15 mice alive but I have found that the mechanism seems to snag one and kill it..Go on line for Victor or Ketch-All" and see what comes up. Let us know if that helps.

Last night, my roommate saw a small, brown mouse run behind her bed. We had some people come upstairs and attempt to catch it, but they couldn't find it and assumed it had run outside. However, I saw it this morning when cleaning up our room.

Our dorm room is relatively clean and only a few years old-not a very obvious place for mice. We would prefer not to use a snap trap or anything that will kill it, but we want to be sure it's out of our room. Can anyone help us out?

Don't have a heart! Kill them. Respect and love the mice that stay in the wild, kill the ones that come into your home.

I put a snap trap in a small paper lunch sack and bait it with cheese and peanut butter. The paper bag makes a nice safe hiding place and when you kill the little vermin, you just have to pick up the bag, roll the top shut and throw it away.

Spring traps are only about 50 cents each, and the whole package, bag, trap and mouse corpse is biodegradable, so you can feel okay about throwing them into the woods (just kidding) (sort of ;o)

It may be a Northern short tailed shrew. We caught one today. I thought we had a black house mouse and set up the traps. It was not a mouse and it did resemble a mole. After surfing online I found a picture and it was exactly what it looked like....
I hope it is the last one. There are great alternatives to snap traps.

I've never heard of a mole wandering indoors. Their primary mode of transportation is through tunnels called "runways" under the earth. I suppose it is possible that the little thing decided to come indoors to find food, but I imagine this kind of behavior is quite rare. You don't read a lot of stories about mole infestations in houses, you know?

My guess? Your mole problem is over with. However, you may have a mole infestation in your yard, and if you need to control moles in your yard I would refer you to this article: http://www.getridofthings.com/get-rid-of-moles.htm

I heard a noise and thought it was a mouse pulling cheese into a hole in the baseboard in my bedroom. I set a mouse trap and within minutes heard the snap. When I went to get it it was not a mouse it was a mole. How do I get rid of moles and what are the chances there are more? I have small children so I do not realy like the snap trap thing and cannot really afford a lot. Any suggestions?
