<description>&#60;p&#62;I tried a trick on my own to see if I could deter the carpenter bees that are destroying my carport. I mixed a little dish soap, water and ammonia in my sprayer and sprayed each opening in the wood. Then I waited for the the bees to land and sprayed them. They hit the ground and died. After about 30 minutes the bees were gone from the area and I noticed several more on the ground. This was just an experiment on my part and may not keep them from coming back, but they are gone for now.Just thought I would join this forum and let those with Carpenter bee problems know about this as a cheap and safe way to rid them for a while.
