<description>&#60;p&#62;I've seen people use fishing line to deter birds from landing.  They can't see it and when they try to land on it they don't like it.  Tie it in a grid pattern across that part of the lawn.  Of course there is a chance of duck getting tangled, but if you want the upper hand in this war this may be your best tactic or some variation.

&#60;p&#62;For the time being, you might want to let your dog handle duck diplomacy matters, or buy a bottle of BirdShield bird repellent to spray on your yard. It's a biodegradable taste aversion product, and it may help keep the ducks off your grass if they're foraging for seed or just grazing on the greens.
