Each year, our small neighborhood gets invaded by Wasps. We are in the country and each year around September between the hours of 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. (the warmest part of the day) our homes are swarmed by wasps. They do not sting and are very docile, but we are literally walking through thousands of wasps to get to the front door. They do manage to also get into the house (we are still finding holes) and we shop vac dead wasps on a daily basis. Is there anything available that would keep them away from the house? We are not interested in killing the wasps but rather minimize the invasion of our homes every year.

Wasps? People call a variety of bees..wasps. Most insects are attracted to bright white. Is your house white? Is the sun hitting the front around that time? They may be what we call digger bees in Virginia. They have a hole in the ground and are almost like small yellow jackets? Am I getting warm? If so..they have been there for many years and you just never noticed them until they bred a few generations.I am concerened about your neighborhood..Is it possible to post a pic of one of these guys on this site?

If you want to post an external link to the pest you are referring to here, but all means do so. I won't moderate it.
