I rescued a cat from animal control, now all three of my cats have ear mites. I bought a one time application med from the vet needless to say they still have them. I even apply mineral oil every other day. What am I doing wrong or what can I do? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Please email me parmtuckygirl@yhaoo.com

I assume that's parmtuckygirl@yahoo.com. Usually we don't allow solicitations to email people on this site, but I'll let this one ride because I have no idea what you could be doing wrong. Are you following your vet's orders to the t? Are you simply seeing normal buildup in your cats' ears and mistaking it for ear mites? Let's see if getagrip has an answer, but I'm not sure this is his field.

Hey Laura, I think you need to go back to the vet's office or call them. My cat had that problem years ago but it was quickly resolved with what you're doing. If taking the cat to the vet is a "nightmare" and I know it is, try catching some of the suspect mites on a piece of clear scotch tape so the vet can see the culprits.
