   Please help me before I move out of my house immediately.
   2 nights ago i noticed a black spider on my ceiling..killed it.
   yesterday morning another one..killed it.
   laying in bed last night it was like Mission Impossible when 3 teeny tiny spiders dropped down around me! Yikes! Creeped out but not panicked.
   Tonight 2 more big bigger spiders found & eliminated.
   I just took a close look at my ceiling and found many tiny spiders all over it!
   I am assuming they are coming down from the attic? I can't get up into the attic, nor do I have any desire to do so...How do I get ride of these nasty creepy icky things that are clearly on summer holiday in my house!

   There is a spider we call a wolf spider that carries her young on her back. When you killed Mom all the young uns got off. Maybe that's the case. If it were me I would get a big glass and a sheet of paper and drop all those guys into the glass and take them outside. Of course you may not have the same affection for spiders. You may have to use some pesticide. You don't mention if there is a gap to the attic or webs around the corners.

   The wolf spider theory is an interesting one. Generally speaking, how many baby spiders come out of a typical spider sac (not necessarily wolf spiders)? Is it possible that these babies aren't wolfies but part of a larger infestation in her attic?

   We need more details about the attic.

   American house spider 250
   Wolf 168-365
   Sac (yellowish) 30-48
   The main difference being that the young molt once in the sac and then ballon away, for all but Wolf. The female bites open the sac and the spiderlings jump on mom. The attic is highly suspect but there must be an opening .Ha! Is her light on at night attracting insects and thereby spiders? You're right we need more info. The ball is in your court Peytonshea02.    Thanks for your replies. Trying to recover from the 'female bites open the sac' comment..yikes!
   The only obvious access out of the attic is a small tile (maybe 2 x 3 feet) that slides open.(there were really no webs in that area) That being said we live in a very old house so I am sure there are many little cracks giving anything in the attic easy access to the rest of the house. And yes, we have found hanging webs along the edges of the walls along the ceiling. We have always had them occasionally since we have owned the house. Nothing horrifying like the Haunted Mansion or anything but definately there. I vacuum them as soon as I see them and have not noticed anything like a nest or sak or anything like that.
   Now I am really freaked out thinking that we killed 3 or 4 BIG black spiders...does that mean that each one of those had babies all over them?!?
   We sprayed some bug spray all over the ceiling, then vacuumed the ceiling, and walls (yes I emptied the vacuum bag asap)..Will spraying like that keep them out of the living space? Please please please don't tell me I have to open that attic door to be rid of these things.
   ps..since spraying i haven't seen any today (and believe me I have been checking..like every 15 minutes. ick.

   Do you have a flashlight? A bright bright one ? You can do it. Come on .Or better yet have one of the kids do it. That access door is just the right size. Just open it a little and peek in. Oh.shake it or bang on it a bit before opening. I'm dying to know what's up there.
