I wouldn't expect any replies from me until after the 6th. You'll have to rely on each other. Be safe, water the plants, and don't do anything your mother wouldn't do while I'm gone.

Hey did you read Nicky 12's account of the guy that removed the "nest" with his bare hands and stomped on it. I'm thinking it's an old scam where the "exterminator" puts some attic insulation in a bag and puts on a show for the customer charging them extra $$$. So I'm not responding to her maybe you can if you want. Later ............

I read that, but I guess I've never run into that kind of scam before. It did sound a little bizarre to me, though, him stomping on it and all that. Did he actually show her the nest before he smashed it? Did he show her the larvae?

I just went back and re read her post. She says he removed the nest with his bare hands and ( I think) showed her "larvae". I'm thinking he found a dormant wasp nest.
The rest sounds like showmanship. Typically these guys have 3 days training and a huge sales quota to meet. Plus they make commission on whatever they charge. I could tell you some stories!! Anyhoo..she's asking what to do to not have this happen again. I'm sure in a few days the problem will still be there.
