    Hi Sandra,

While I can understand your desire to get rid of your scar, I'm afraid that while home remedies and creams can help accelerate the skin's regeneration/renewal process, these products and remedies for scars are of little use when it comes to serious trauma, like the kind your scar comes from. However, I am not a doctor, so don't take my word as the absolute truth. I know they are doing some pretty incredible things with cosmetic surgery techniques and practices these days. I would suggest consulting a dermatologist or a reputable cosmetic surgeon. You may have to have your current physician refer you, depending upon the terms of your insurance.

I'm sorry to read about your dilemma, and I hope some of this info helps you when you make a decision about how to get rid of your scar.

    Hi Sandra.

I know quite a bit about scars and have one myself on my chest. I hope science someday can make it invisible.

The mistake I made when I was 23 (I'm 32) was trusting the first doctor I saw to operate using a difficult form of surgery, that would not apply in your case and location of scar. This was after I saw a few surgeons from a small practice in a small city who told me not to mess with it. My results are worse than the original.

So, get several opinions because although it costs more, it will save you much 'pain'.

    Good luck - A. R.

PS Jonathan, does she get notice of my reply on her email?

I believe the option to be notified of replies is available, but like I said it's an option.

Thanks a lot for your advice! I am very sorry to hear that you had to go thru those troubles. I just saw one laser surgery today and I was thinking to go and ask what would be best in my case.
    Thanks a lot!!!
