Does anyone have a suggestion for removing rust stains from a white cotton sweater - unfortunately tried chlorine bleach which has set the stain - is there any hope ?

Nope! Hey what do I know..I'm a guy. I put all my dirty stuff in the washer add soap turn the dial.. And BAM just like that it's clean! How did you get rust stains on a white sweater? Never mind.. Seriously I think you need to soak it in something and then do something else follow the directions then one more thing and you're done!!
LOL I hope someone out there has some the rest of the story.
There is a product called either iron out or rust out. It is packaged in a white bottle. It's made in Ohio. I haven't bought it for several years. I used to use it all the time when I lived in an environment when I could be sitting in the bath tub and the water would come out of the faucet orange.
Holy Crap..That's disgusting. And this opinion is from a guy who goes under houses plays with spiders and bats and snakes and roachs. Orange water in the bath? Holy Crap!!
I lived in the Bahamas. The water could turn orange, you just ever knew when. You also did not drink the water unless it was bottled. The stuff I wrote about is called Iron out by Iron Out Inc.. It's a powder in a white bottle with a red cap. I found mine in my laundry.
Was that well water or maybe old rusty pipes?
