Smelly Lawn due to dog urine

Urine will kill grass. Your situation must be very bad if you smell it. Is the lawn still alive? Since the problem is outdoors I would turn the soil then mow what's left and re fertilize and re seed using lots of water being careful not to flush the fertilizer into to sewers.
