   I have several pets outdoors and my kids play outside a lot, we live in the country. This year seems to be a really bad one for ticks. The new puppy we just got seems to be continually covered with the ticks. I'm afraid he is going to get sick.

   So I'm lookin for ideas to put in his dog house or around it to keep the ticks from getting on him.

   We gave him a bath to kill the ticks and picked several off of him and then bought a flea and tick collar too.

   HELP< HELP if you have any ideas on an inexpensive way to treat outside areas for ticks!!!!

   How old is the new puppy. I would suggest Frontline or something like that. If he's to young maybe keep him inside for a while. I would be more concerned with the kids. They can bring the ticks indoors in thier socks and clothes. Cut back all overhanging foliage. Be sure to let the kids know to stay away from those areas. Have then pause at the entrance to be "checked" for ticks. Just a little common sense and most kids will understand.Now that's INEXPENSIVE.
