How to Get Rid of Love Handles

Natural & Organic Remedies:

Green Tea, is believed to aid in the digestion of fats, allowing your body to pass those fats through your system rather than retain them and store them as body fat. What clinical research has been done on this theory has escaped my eye, but Green Tea is delicious and I imagine it's popular in Asia for a reason.

I don't know a single person (aside from my very athletic friends) who hasn't wondered aloud how to get rid of love handles, while they poke at their rolls and moan. I sometimes find myself poking at my love handles and letting out a sigh of resignation while I'm sitting on our couch trying to write. It's normal for a person twenty-seven years of age living a sedentary lifestyle to stand in front of the mirror and think to himself, “What have I done to deserve this?” The answer is nothing. And that's the problem. A sedentary lifestyle and a lack of change in your eating habits from your pizza-and-pop college days are the reason you're starting to look like the Michelin Man. It's time to change your diet and start exercising if you're going to get rid of those love handles. Here's how:

To get rid of those love handles you'll first want to start working on your diet by reading the food labels at your grocery store. You want to avoid certain kinds of fat. The fats to avoid are saturated fat and trans fatty acids. Saturated fats are found in most animal products like dairy and meat, while trans fatty acids are found in foods that have “hydrogenated oils” in them.

watch your diet
To get rid of love handles, you'll want to start cooking with less creams, butters, and oils. Use skim milk instead of regular or whole milk. Use more egg whites rather than egg yolks. Start making your own salad dressings, using more vinegar and other fat-free substances (like Grey Poupon) than oil. And if you absolutely need to use oil to cook, try using more olive oil. Olive oil is good for you. eat right
If you live a particularly sedentary lifestyle and you want to get rid of love handles, you'll want to avoid excessively starchy foods. Foods like potatoes, rice, breads, and cereals are all good for you—don't get me wrong—but as with anything in life, too much of a good thing can be bad for you. These foods (high-glycemic foods) are good for you if you're working out a lot, but tend to be stored as body fat if you don't burn the calories. healthier foods
Frankly, if you're serious about getting rid of love handles, you need to start getting a workout. Strength training is the most tempting place to begin for a lot of men, which is a good thing, but ease your way into it. Buy a book about good weight lifting techniques. Building muscle and toning that muscle helps your body burn calories more efficiently, even when you're just sitting around. workout
For people who are quite serious about losing love handles, nothing beats a good aerobic exercise regiment. Sure, bigger and stronger muscles burn calories more efficiently, but you need to be working those big muscles if you want them to eat up calories. So, in between your days of strength training, go for a run or a walk, or a bike ride—anything to get your muscles working and those calories burning. exercise

Special Equipment and Treatments

Any person trying to sell you a particular product to help you lose your love handles is assuming that you're some kind of dope. There is no particular book or exercise machine that will either teach you how to lose those love handles or get rid of them all together. There is no such thing as spot reducing fat, and that's what love handles are, fat that has accumulated in particular spots. So instead of paying someone $100 to have someone wrap your stomach up in Saran Wrap, or charging your credit card to the max for the latest “ab machine,” or getting a loan to support a new amphetamine diet, spend your money in more reasonable ways. Go drop $30 on a Bally's Fitness Club membership, and save yourself some money by avoiding the dairy and meats section of your local grocery store.

Not only can losing your love handles give you more self-confidence and your special lady friend a little extra eye-candy, but the change in lifestyle will actually save you money in both the short-term and long-term. Now, get off your ass and go get rid of those love handles. I'm on my way to the gym right now.
